| By the way, I do not see the proper amount of dust build up on that mother board. You are sacrificing good insulation! | |

That is a brand new Motherboard, of course there is no dirt on it. Besides if dirt on it and forms a seeable layer it will be gone in seconds. Dirt on PC parts will cause heat to be trapped in and cause overheating. |

| NCC-1701 E "Sovereign class Starship" or in this case the new one.
As for dirt causing overheating, yes. The dirt will create a heat trapping layer and keep heat on parts. Dirt will also slow down fan speeds by clogging it. |

| OMG! LOL! YAFI! - I don't even have text on my phone. See all my computer tech buddies over at Sony have insulated their Pc's with cellulose blow in type insulation. It takes up space where any dust can land or accumulate. Their boards run at about 180-195 Degree F. They seem to be the one to ask, they're in the know you know. Also, fans are over rated. The amount of heat that the fan motor puts off is more than the fan it self can cool off. If your going to run a "Tower" style PC, you should avoid installing any type of fan whatsoever. They also don't work well when you have your PC properly insulated with the cellulose. One guy over their used that expandable spay in foam from Home Depot to take up any air space in his tower. Their was also one gent who came over from HP talking about the effects of having you monitor hooked directly into your PC. He said it's only a good idea if you wanted to see what your doing, other wise you should run it through a vhf switch to avoid any interference due to solar flairs. Dude it was a fucking joke! But, we all went out and purchased our vhf switches and converters from Radio Shack (You know, the real Pc'rs store of choice). But seriously, get rid of your fan, and blow in some insulation, your good to go. Seriously. If its on TV, it must be true. Oh and please, wise master of the PC and Ulta-Treky, give us your wisdom, your thoughts, your all knowing brain must have the need to teach us about the insulation properties of dust, dirt and all the workings of the PC world. Once again, if you have read any of the other post I've made, you should know that I know JACK SHIT about computers other than playing some games and searching out porn on the web. Yes, there is porn on the web.. pretty cool huh? I go to the local PC store, hand them some cash and say, "Build me a kick ass computer," and the do. If something goes wrong, I just make sure there is still enough insulation, whether dust, dirt, or cellulose, and move on. And by the way, how is it considered a "Sovereign" class when it's been destroyed.. oh how many times..5?? They should call it, the "Number 8 in line for Sovereignty class Starship." But I'm not a true Treky, never even been to the comic convention, or dressed up like a Star fleet member or Romulan. I leave my dorkness to playing video games and golf. Really, dust will hurt your mother board? | |

| I have no idea what you just said saffron. I do understand the Trek part though . There have been many Enterprises: Original (Captain Jonathan Archer, not destroyed), "Enterprise" (James Kirk, destroyed), Enterprise A (Kirk, Destroyed), Enterprise B (Damaged during maiden voyage), Enterprise C (Thought destroyed, later found alive by Enterprise D), Enterprise D (Jean-Luc Picard, Destroyed), Enterprise E (severely damaged in "Nemesis"). Each ship had it's own class, the best known ones were the Constitution class (A), Excelsior class(B), Galaxy class(D), and Sovereign Class(E). Need more info? |

| X- Aka - Curt, My wife is laughing saying your a bigger dork than I!! I may have to agree with that godly like knowledge of Enterprise History.
Nutte- I'm playing there today through Sunday depending....
ya' right.
I just played Meadow Lake last week. Our next rip out is going to be the 2nd Friday in July @ Fallbrook. Being poor, I can't play as much as I'd like to, but we're trying for at least once a month. Last week was the 1st time in about 8 months. 9 beers and some SoCo (Southern Comfort) I shot a 103. That's how we play though. Not good enough to worry about, so you might as well drink and have fun. | |

| I need someone to tell me the difference between pci-e and pci. And, if there were only someone who could explain BIOS..sigh. PLUS, just how does a transistor work and what is Ohm's law? Don't know if there is anyone; just putting that out there. Google is broken...oh well. | |
