PostSubject: Rant in A Minor   Thu Nov 13, 2008 6:08 am

I know this is long but PLEASE everyone read!!!!!!!

Ok, I have been wanting to get this off my chest for awhile now but have held back due to the feeling it wasn’t my place. However I feel I can no longer sit and swallow what it is that I see. I am sorry if I piss some of you off, but this is my true feelings

I joined Precision two years ago, under the leadership of Float. I was a complete newbie to all of the actions and gaming here. All I knew is I am a huge WWII buff, History and Military enthusiast. I saw a commercial for Aces High on the History Channel one night and thought I would check it out. The first night I flew I got my ass waxed multiple times but had a blast doing it. I was asked by a lady (Femwolf) to do a bombing mission led by this guy Floatsup. I had no clue what I was doing or what was going on but joined and flew with them. Over the next few days, I had the pleasure of Fem showing me the ropes of a B-17 and B-24. Within a few days I was asked to join a squad called Precision. After joining I saw a group of guys who were all like brothers flying together, showing newbie’s like me the ropes, and taking the time to help each other out when they could with one common goal, and that was Precision kicked ass and took names as far as Missions and Bases Captures. Over the last two years I have seen squadies come and go. Some for reasons beyond our control and some that may have been prevented. Precision is NO WHERE the squad of what it used to be. I tend to see brotherhood talked a lot about but I am not seeing it anymore. There are a few who take the time to help out, but others either want to see how they can change things or what ranks they can earn. NOW with that being said, yes I was one of those, but I think somewhere along the way I lost what I wanted to do, and what I had seen in this squad. We as an entire squad have lost what this whole squad was formed for…. Float a rant for you….. This squad was formed as a bomber squadron, because too many people were out furballing and not taking bases or helping there fellow countrymen out. I think its time we get back to basics. This was his baby, and frankly if I were him I would be sick to my stomach to see what it has become from what it was intended. We bitch constantly in meetings “we need to get back to making more missions and we need to take more bases” Every month it’s the same BULLSHIT talk, but yet another tour comes and nothing changes. Last week I posted a huge bomber mission and had over 24 Pilots, We leveled 6 bases and took 3. I felt in that hour and half I had done Precision and its founders proud.
Most of you look at this as a game, and that’s fine. I myself tend to look at it a little different. I look at all of you as family. When times have been rough in my life AH is my one escape, when my first son was born, it was YOU GUYS who took the time to congratulate me before some friends I see daily. When those of us have had hard times, we have been there for one another. When float has turned ill we have all been there for him, when Marc made his move to CO. We were there to support him. When Aaron fell on his hard times. We were there to support and lend an ear when he needed to talk.
But we seem to have forgotten all of that, and made this into a “what can I get from this” squad. Its time to go back to basics gentlemen. I really want to see this squad become a bomber, base taken, bad ass, don’t fuck with me cause I am Precision squad. I don’t give a damn about whose 1st LT, Colonel, Major, or Freaking CO. When a squadie calls for help by god there needs to be all the rest of us who are on, showin up ready to whip someone’s ass for messing with a fellow squad member. I wanna see huge bomber missions starting to go back up, and this doesn’t mean “hey lets wait for float to log on and do it” by god lets get off our ass and start posting them. We need to be taken bases right and left again. I would love nothing more then to see Rooks and Bishops start looking at us like they do the AK’s, LTAR’s, and some of the more formidable squads that are out there.

I have been just as bad for not doing some of the things I have bitched about, but I am getting tired of this rut, we fell in. PRECISION its time to get back to basics……

Every time I have logged on lately there have been missions going on and people doing their bit. This was always Floats thing and hes back doing it again. The difference between now and a couple of months ago is there is always someone to play with and a purpose. Thats what I joined for and its my perception that that is what we have. The latest recruit, Apollo is pleased with the help he is getting confused

Dont you know it was always better back in the Day. I remember back in maybe january feb 2007 I would log on and their would be a couple of guys furballing someone else defending on their own and a couple moaning its not what it used to be. I used to complain and have a go about the lack of missions and I pushed for a squad day on here or wherever it was then and started taking a more active part.

As far as big bombing missions are concerned I think we stopped flying them because they stopped working i.e. we thought the furballers would do the follow up and guess what happened? Anyway we should do them again now and again for a really good reason. They can be fun. I am in anyway cheers

IMHO there is as much team spirit as ever, people greet eachother, they join in and have a laugh, (well i do) and we now fly more events for which we have recored breaking turn outs. We do more of a variety of things as people got bored with same old same old.

Re Floats, please dont forget Floats has been very ill and in many ways we are lucky he is still around. I think he has everything to be proud of. The squad has a life of its own and turns out more people than any other for events on a regualr basis. Unlike many squads it has stood the test of time and continues to evolve while taking bases like no other.

Anyway I am Sorry you feel the way you do but nothing stays the same forever. If your not happy you were on the right track when you said you wanted to get more involved. I say to you now your involved make a difference and stop living in the past. Very Happy

So do it again cheers but not all the time because it gets stale and boring. If I am on Ill join. bounce

AND BTW I am your family to and I could use some support. First you want a goal to go after when your on your own on here, then your here for 2 years and your still only 2nd LT so you get promoted, then you want more involvement so I suggest special events or the web site and your happy with that, now I am the freakin CO, the squads gone to hell and we need to fly more missions. Maybe its different when your on. As the freakin CO I say go out there and fakin post them and can you try to be a bit more positive in future lol!

When I am on all I here is check six and let me come and help you and will you pork ord here or bomb there and good to see you bro etc. I see people pileing into missions, flying goons and generally doing what needs to be done. The only people who have mentioned being promoted are you and Mobius which is fine and I have seen very little evidence if any of score whoreing.

I ll say it again there is no one and nothing stopping you from taking the lead. If you do you'll probably make captain or above. Not because you wanted to be captain but because you wanted to improve the squad for everyone and the rank recognises that contribution. We have always needed another person like floats to post and run great missions on a regular basis. So now you have your mission medic cheers

Well said Medic.
I agree and yet disagree.
You are correct as to the fact we are not running as many bomber missions. But yes they are still there.
I disagree with the "what can I get from this squad" thing. In the past couple of months, I've seen us working closer than ever.. maybe not in the base taking role of yore, which I too would like to see more of, but deffintly in a "lets up together" role, and the assistance role.

I have an idea.. ohh no! Both to give people experience and help pull the squad together in those times we seem to end up all over the map....

The idea... When you log on... post a mission. Bomber, Fighter sweep, NOE thingy, GV thingy.. I don't care

I see it as a way to get the squad upping together and to give everyone the chance to lead a group of pilots in what ever way they wish.

Any thoughts????

Yay Medic for sharing your thoughts cheers

Well from my point of view the biggest reason that we dont fly so many big bomber missions anymore is due to the fact that: 1 we bomb the base and get shot down for lack of fightercover. 2 We bomb the base but noone helped us to take it all the way. 3. We bomb a base and get flamed by the furballers (this i dont care about. anyway). 4 To manny bombermissions gets boring. (for me anyway)

We started to fly for fighrers so we could escort our own missions. Then we might lost track a little bit. Maybe we are good enough now in fighters to actually pull it off now. What do i know.

All i think is that if anyone wants to put up a big bombermission when im on.. Ill be there.

PostSubject: Can I put in my 2 cents...only have a dollar though   Thu Nov 13, 2008 6:42 pm

I was on for the second time this month the other night. I was on channel 144 but no one was there yet my2, float, medic, milton, and a few others were on 145. Float put up a big bomber mission for a large air field, a vbase, and a port. It was exactly how I remembered flying with you guys. Very well thought out plan. Float got discoed right before drop so that sucked. I dropped 2 FH and was supposed to drop 2 VH's but missed one. Luckily, Medic was there to back me up . I just wanted to say I'm always proud to fly with you guys. Honored that you accept me coming and going. Let me just say this, THIS IS AN AWSOME SQUAD. I should know, I was a part of it and been part of others squad. The Claim Jumpers get things done cause there are usually 20 guys or more on during peak times. They horde bases and no one ever ups. It was boring plus they wouldn't help a brother in need. You guys are so much better in my opinion of most squads out there. I think its great you guys r doing special events and scrimmages. Yarbles and whoever had anything to do with that a big . I'm proud to have flown on ESO under (+). We kicked azz as a squad. Well Medic, I hope things get better for you now that the rant is out. Only good will come out of this for you and the squad. I see no reason why you guys can't get together and work it all out. Any of you want to find me I'll be in the DA. I've spent last 3 weeks in there working on my SA and dogfighting skills. It's really a decent place to go for practice. Just expect to get picked by tempests that's all.

Well, I appreciate what every has said so far, Ill have to get my voice out here, but the bottom line from what I see, is we have been so outnumbered lately, and the other, is we usually only have about 4-5 people on. We do get more for about a peak hour or two, but then were so out numbered by the other side it just sux, and to be honest with you, it pisses me off, to have newbs in the mission. But hey, Ill get back to you flying a temp, and thank you for sharing everyone. Please comment.

I felt like Medic for a couple of months now, but i've had a change of heart lately and feel things are getting better. My biggest problem within the game now is the numbers thing. I am so tired of defending and attacking a base with more defenders than attackers. Most of the time im on there are 125 bish, 50 Knights and 90 rooks, also the other arena is maxed out. I feel im someones else entertainment and really dont have as good of a time as i used to.(but thats just me) I really enjoy flying with everyone and love the brotherhood within the squad. Long live (+)Precision!

Okie...

So i joined (+) in March of 2007. I flew with ForestG (Mike) and Float for a month and loved the chattering and names calling. We were always doing some missions. Came November 07, i was bored of doing the same thing nite in and nite out. So i called a meeting and wanted to flip (+)s around. My intentions were to create a squad with more life the life it already carried.

I created the website soon after and came the forums to have other means of contacts beside the AH private forum. Soon, after i pushed and pushed very hard for us to be more involved with the AH community by pressing the issue with Friday Nite Operation (FSO). That was a success along with the website and forums. Then i started thinking about branching out and making (+)s more of an interacting force in the AH community by finding other squads for fun-filled scrimmages and doing some PUBLIC RELATION stuff for the squad by visiting other squad's website, etc. That too was a success - we started seing AH members from other squads, such as POTW, A8, DM, and a few others visiting our site and forums. So that too was a success.

Then i started to be creative and merchandised our EMBLEM/LOGO. To let (+)s members be a part of the squad through t-shirts/mouse pad/coaster, etc. That too was a success.

Then i started pushing the issues with a rank structure and recognition method. Now all of a sudden, that is being criticized for possibilities of turning the squad a different direction????

I'm not citing everything i did to claim recognition. The purpose of this is to illustrate that everything i did is TO BRING LIFE to a cartoon game. When i get bored, i lose focus, when i lose focus, i lose interest, when i lose interest, i go find something else. My intention is keep the squad together by introducing different elements to this cartoon game.

I'm not directly defending Yarbles and his intentions, but i can fairly assumed that he has the same intention. YOU ALL DO. thats why you're all still HERE.

What i'm trying to say is, of course with changes come uncertainties, but there will always be uncertainties to everything. Its what each and everyone of you make of it.

And this is personally for Yarbles: "everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness, and growth happen while you're climbing it" ... take ur time and ease them in. These old farts are very subjective to changes.

lol! Then ive got allot of happiness and growth to look forward to in this squad cheers and thanks Aaron I love you

BTW I was talking with Floats yesterday about his idea from the early days of having a convention with literally everyone. That is one of the reasons I would like the squad to be strongly constituted so maybe we can have some proper squad funds one day to make this more likely.

that would be fantastic yarb. I agree with everything that has been said. I enjoy bombing the fuck out of someone, but not over and over and over, when we are fighting a losing battle.

I am sure I speak for all of us when I say the hell with the hoarding rooks and bish, outnumbering us. it just gets so lame.

I am not the largest fan of the late war MAs Evil or Very Mad . I will of course come fly when everyone is on, but if there is no one on, then I usually fly in midwar, just because there are more true pilots there I find, even though it may be a little harder to find a fight.

I will also invite a couple or 3 squaddies to join me when I head over there, I'll say "ok fuck this, I'm tired of being hoarded (ho'd) etc. I'm going to purple, anyone wanna join me. I think that if the squad as a whole started flying more in midwar perhaps, or even the late war MA with FEWER people on. I see the biggest server and I automatically say, ok, where else can i go.

I personally HATE titanic tuesday and think it is one of the most ignorant things HTC has done, but I still fly in it with you guys, because when there are 4-12 of us or more on it's fun. Because we work together and get things done, whether it's bombing, NOE 110s base sneaking, fighter sweeping.

As of late we have been working together very well, waiting to up for others to land etc. We need to keep this up, and maybe try going into Mid war or early war for a while.

We could go dominate in there, and even though there may not be a whole lot of opposition at times, it would be a good break to get away from the stupid MA and go kill shit, blow chit up and WIN at it. because isn't this game about WINNING and having fun, even if that means uppping 6 groups of bombers to go annihilate an enemy from on a server with fewer pilots on, who gives a damn, we are still fucking over the Rooks and Bitch'es.

That's my 2 & 400 cents, and I'm off to bed. g'nite, or morning, whichever works better for you cheers pirat bounce bounce bounce Saff's Wife

We can all try to agree but I fundamentally disagree with this statement. For me Precision is bigger and better in every way than it has ever been. We are more of a team who care about each other and work better together than we ever have been before. I believe we will be better still.

I was in at the start and it was wonderfull Floats was great and held it all together. it was always sunny and it never rained. But who remembers when we split into 3 and then when things really went off the rails (I dont want to have to remind people). Aaron and Mark pitched in big time and laterly me, nutte voo and Kling. I think we are everything we were and allot more now. Except yes we dont fly as many bomber missions. Whats going on between Rook, Bish and Knight is not under our exclusive control and we have to take the knocks like everyone else. The answer is not to turn on eachother.

Now can we look to the future (but with more bomber missions).

Medic,

I for one agree with the basic message that you bring. Go back to Basics! I absolutely agree. When I signed on we did at least 1 bomber mission a night. We were awesome at it. We were great at low level 26 missions also. With my schedule I am on to late during the weekdays and I am with my family on the weekends.

Float,

Thank you for teaching me what I know now. You were a great teacher.

To everyone out there

You are all my brothers and feel close to you all. I have seen more people come to my aide in un winnnable situations more in the last month than I have seen ever. We have alot of 2 on 5 or 6 and not one of you has backed off. Well maybe Klingan cause he hates me. LOL. Kidding

One of the things that (+)precision does that others do not, is fly balls to the wall into a 3 v 8 or 2 v 5/6 fight, to save a fellow (+). That's comradery, like you can only find in certain places. That element is at least in tact. cheers cheers Coolness

I remember bringing the topic of lack of bomber missions at a sqaud meet 3 months ago, i have been in total 7 bomber missions with the sqaud.
Its is 8 now float had a bomber mission yesterday. If people don't like to fly bombers why don't they fly as escort, i flew as gunner for float it was
laugh shooting lancasters down from underneath in B24's. Medic if you want to fly in bombers i will up with you.

I am glad to see the squads input on all of this, and I think I finally started or at least fueled a small fire that was burnin very dim. Its time to see back to the basics.

For those of you voiced your opinions on here I am glad to hear them all. Its few and far in between when we can stand up and preach what we believe in.
