I have used pedals in a simulator when I went to flight school. They seem way too sensitive for my taste, especially when you use the brakes. The twist function on my stick suits me fine.

Geez should i answer them in a list like your questions?

1. I do
2.I find them helpful especially if you turn way and need to rudder the other. Others reasons as well
3."Need" no one needs them but look above^
4.As for Brand i don't know, I use Gas and Brake Pedals from my Logitech Driving Force, the tension is fine as i know many people ask me about.

Who wishes they had them. Me. But then again I also wish I had a better stick. But now I fly better than I was when I couldn't look around and use my rudder at the same time :0

CH makes probably the best. I've heard the set that go with the x52 by saitek are pretty good too, but kinda like the stick the tension might be off a hair

Not only will having pedals increase your joysticks lifespan but they have a wider range of sensitivity, therefore, you don't have to have the sticks sensitivity all the way up.
