My impression of ESO was initially we came up against some good pilots in better planes and got a bit of an ass kicking though overasll we aquitted ourselves well. We were (again in my opinion) checking sixes and supporting eachother better than we ever used to but from an individual and tactical point of view we can still do better. Klingan split the squad over 2 altitudes which I believe worked well and we started the fight with a height advantage but in an inferior plane. He also suggested we only return to the fight in groups which again I thought wise.
Previoulsy we had done well here but this time we came up against strong fighter pilots and struggled. This is where we can improve most and need imho to develop more pilots of the calibre of Klingan Kvuo and Floats. I am hoping for great things from My2 now he is back.
For those who remember sunday was always our squad evening/day and we had plenty of people on. I thought people were working very well as a team when I was on and we took some good bases against opposition. Kling and Floats ran some good plans and everyone joined in and did there bit
This was and will always be imho the core business of the squad and what we are best at.
Apollo joined the squad
He flew with us for a while first and came highly reccomended. I think getting people to fly for a while before joining is a good idea because it reflects the strength of what we have and that we are looking for people who will stick around and play a part. I also think if anyone objects to a new member that person should not be asked to join and if we dont have them fly with us for a while how can we have any reasonable consultation.
